ABOUT OUR RESTAURANT

Stone Creek Bistro is the premier dining destination in Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains. But for us, “it’s a family thing.”

Established in 2013 by the Perry family as an upscale, full-service bistro with a Southern twist in Hollywood’s backyard, we feature seasonally driven produce, locally sourced dairy and meats, and house-made desserts, all created with passion by Chef Sam Perry.

Our menu is moderately priced, with an eclectic mix of Southern American comfort food and traditional French bistro cuisine. We use time-honored recipes refined over years of training, brought to you in the bucolic mountains of Southern California. Join us!

 MEET CHEF SAM PERRY

Chef Sam Perry spent his formative cooking years training under several James Beard Award-winning chefs and a Peabody Award-winning celebrity chef.

Born in Las Vegas and raised in Crestline, California, Chef Sam was naturally drawn to food. And after 10 years of nose-to-the-grindstone training, he brought his craft, knowledge, and dedication back home to the mountains.

In 2004, he enrolled at the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. In 2005, he interned at Restaurant August, a contemporary Creole restaurant in New Orleans, where he learned how to create nuanced and sophisticated flavors out of the humblest of ingredients.

Chef Sam Perry with “Good Eats” host Alton Brown

Chef Sam landed an internship in 2006 with the hit Food Network show “Good Eats” with Alton Brown. By testing recipes up to 75 times and doing research on anything from the origins of chicken-fried steak to barley water, Perry saw a completely different side to the world of food and beverage.

Sam decided to stay in the South and got a job with acclaimed, award-winning Chef Sean Brock at McCrady’s in Charleston, South Carolina. Perry learned and grew with Brock for over three years. Charleston is also where Chef Sam met his wife, Jaime.

Relocating to his hometown of Crestline in 2009, Chef Sam went to work at local mountain restaurants while planning his next move. That came in 2013 when his father, Sonny, presented him with an opportunity to open his own restaurant. And here we are!

In his spare time, Chef Sam is a multi-instrumentalist (banjo, guitar, piano), music hoarder, cat lover, retro toy collector, husband, and dad to two children, Sydney and Ben.
